Living Trees Genealogy Network was designed by a genealogist for managing genealogy projects. It became impossible to keep everything organized across various different internet platforms. Typical Social Networks like Facebook were just too chaotic, politically and socially hostile environments, and became more and more costly. Facial recognition, bias policies, bias targeting, invasive ads and other negative influences became hinderances to genealogy. Their free service came with an invasion of privacy, post monitoring at the micromanagement level specifically to target certain groups.
Living Trees Genealogy Network offers members the ability to request and manage their own family tree for free. This is done by using an existing installation of Darren Lythgoes, The Next Generation of Genealogy (TNG) Site-building opensource software. Members can use the Member Trees functionality at Living Trees Genealogy Network or they can request their own private domain and installation for a fee.
